iFoscarini: do you light? | 15th of March 2014 |
Foscarini unveiled a new app for IOS and Android featuring all the lamps in the Foscarini collection. Optimised for the iPhone5 and iPad3 with their multi-touch screen system, and for the Android operating system, the new app just launched by Foscarini — with captivating and emotional graphics — allows users to insert lamps in rooms and settings that are caught on camera. Available on the Apple Store and Play Store, the new iFoscarini app is an effective tool that is extremely simple to use. Simply take a photo, or choose from an archived image to begin. After a very short (8 seconds) introductory video characterized by the Foscarini style and mood, the camera immediately starts up, overlapped by the transparent multi-touch screen and all the information required to use the app. From the main menu, the user can take a picture and choose the category of lamps to insert, selecting from table, floor, suspension, ceiling, wall, or outdoor. Once a model has been selected, the user can have fun modifying the photo — simply by touching the screen. The light’s image can be customized and placed anywhere in the picture. Each fixture can be enlarged or minimized, mirrored or rotated, and repositioned in the chosen setting. In the menu, a superimposed bar containing technical details and active links to more information on the chosen lamp appears. Once a lamp has been added to a photo, a window opens with options to share the finished shot through email or social media. With Twitter, the contents can be shared using a hashtag with the name of the lamp and the iFoscarini app. Facebook, on the other hand, shares the photo while mentioning "foscarinilamps.” On Instagram, users can have fun swapping pictures and applying filters to the image. With iFoscarini’s introduction, Foscarini works to fuel creativity and user generated content (UGC) on the web. iFoscarini is an easy and social technological solution perfect for design enthusiasts and anyone wishing to see, and not just to imagine, what effect that lamp with a bold and contemporary personality would have beside their grandmother's chest.
