Founded in 1856 in the city of Vercelli by Giuseppe Sambonet, the Sambonet society grew to be an influential production company at the end of 1937. Their influence was first detected in Italy and then in Europe, with their production of flatware in stainless steel and the adjustments to the technique of plating steel. Sambonet is acknowledged at an international level for their supply to luxury hotels and restaurants.
