The book “Ingressi di Genova” makes visible what normally remains hidden.
A sequence of unprecedented spaces, accessible for the first time through photography and the authorial gaze of Niccolò Biddau, restoring a beauty that has long remained concealed from our eyes.
Portals, entrance halls, staircases — not simple passages, but scenographies, devices of representation.
Each entrance tells a vision of the city and of the time in which it was built.
A large-format volume, with unpublished color photographs, designed as a collector's editorial object.
Page after page, a Genoa emerges that does not offer itself directly to the gaze, but reveals itself gradually through its thresholds.
Because it is precisely in the entrances that Genoa truly tells its story.

Pre-order your copy nowNiccolò Biddau is among the most authoritative Italian photographers in the field of architectural photography, recognized for a rigorous and immediately recognizable visual language.
Author of volumes dedicated to design and contemporary cities, he has built over time a consistent research in which light, material, and composition become tools to interpret space. His images do not merely document but restore the profound structure of architecture through a process of selection, control, and subtraction.
His approach is distinguished by formal precision and visual intensity: each photograph arises from a time of observation and a careful construction of the shot, in which nothing is left to chance.
With Entryways of Genoa, Biddau takes this vision to a new level, offering an unprecedented reading of the city. The entryways of the palaces are interpreted as complex spatial systems, in which light becomes a constructive element and space reveals itself in its essence.
The result is a powerful and consistent visual narrative, in which Genoa is not simply shown but redefined through the author's gaze.
Graduated in Cultural Heritage Conservation in 2005, Lorenzo Bagnara has been active for over twenty years in the field of enhancing Genoa’s artistic and architectural heritage. His work combines research, public engagement, and entrepreneurial activity, with a particular focus on the processes of urban transformation over time.
Since 2001, he has led Via Garibaldi 12, a lifestyle store in the historic center of Genoa dedicated to the culture of living and to the dialogue between design, art, and architecture, housed within Palazzo Baldassarre Lomellino.
Over the years, he has developed a specific interest in 20th-century Genoese architecture, understood as an integral part of the city’s historical stratification. To this field he has devoted research and public engagement activities, including lecture series and conferences focused on interpreting modern Genoa as a layered palimpsest of eras, languages, and urban transformations .
