Flos Toio is a floor lamp, designed in 1962 by the famous Italian designers Achille en Pier Giacomo Castiglioni . Toio provides indirect diffused lighting, which spreads a warm glow throughout the room.
The minimalistic design of Flos Toio is a daring construction of parts that one does not immediately expect in the context of design lighting: as a light source Flos Toio uses a the headlight of a car. This is combined with an open transformer. The prismatic diffuser of the headlight spreads the light of Flos Toio uniquely on the wall and the ceiling. The design is simple, unpretentious and subtle. Flos Toio has an angle iron and formed steel base, painted in a white, black or red. Furthermore Toio has a hexagonal nickel-plated brass height-adjustable stem with telescopic head. The adjustability turns Flos Toio into a personal and flexible floor lamp, able to integrate in every room.
