In 1622 Pietro Paolo Rubens created in Antwerp, at the Giacomo Meurso printing house, the volume Palazzi di Genova,
which proposes to the reader 12 palaces with a body of 72 tables including elevations, plans and sections, drawings by himself "chosen and collected [...] not without effort and expense" during his stays in Genoa between 1604 and 1608 .
