The name "Pont aux choux" is taken from a Paris bridge. The bridge used to be close to a company that used this distinctive "rice corn" design to decorate its porcelain. This design purchased from them by Gien Faience some years ago, now decorates this ecru-coloured faience lending it a certain rustic charm. Accentuating this impression are the lids of the soup tureen and dishes with their original artichoke heart shape.
